Marine Biology and Ecology – Undergraduate Program

Duration of study: Classes of undergraduate study of Marine Biology and Ecology last three years or 6 semesters, and by it at least 180 ECTS points are acquired.

Academic title: Upon completion of undergraduate study a title of a Bachelor/Bachelorette (baccalaureus / baccalaurea) of Marine Biology and Ecology is acquired.

Competences acquired upon completion of study: A Bachelor/Bachelorette of Marine Biology and Ecology is qualified for expert work at universities and research institutions, for work in inspection services, for work in environment protection, for work in expert departments of the coast guard, for the sea monitoring activities in the public health institutes and similar institutions, and for work in national parks and other protected areas of nature as well as to work in aquaculture. Knowledge acquired in this undergraduate study may also be of importance for a range of other activities such as construction, industry, urban planning, spatial planning and energy.
Knowledge acquired at the undergraduate study of Marine Biology and Ecology provides a possibility for further education at graduate studies, since in addition to continuing to study Marine Biology and Ecology, one can without difficulty continue education in natural sciences and other studies of natural or biotehnical orientation.
