Split, 12-16 September, 2011, Hotel Radisson Blu

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Council of the European Association of Fish Pathologists and the Local Organising Committee (Institute of Oceanography & Fisheries, Croatian Veterinary Institute), we cordially invite you to participate in the fifteenth International Conference of the Association. The conference will be held at the Radisson Blu Resort, Split opened in August 2010 as an international four-star hotel (http://www.radissonblu.com/resort-split).
The Conference will begin with registration (16:00-18:00) and a get-together on Sunday 11th September in the Reception lobby of the Radisson Blue Resort. From Monday 12th to Thursday 15th September there will a full scientific programme of Keynotes, oral presentations, dedicated poster sessions, workshops and roundtables. An EAFP plenary session is also scheduled.
On Thursday, 15th September the scientific programme of the Conference will close with the traditional Conference Banquet. On Friday 16th September, there will be two optional study visits; one to Krka National park (including shellfish culture facility) and the second to a tuna rearing facility at the Island of Brač. The visit can be purchased separately (see registration form).
The primary means of communication for the conference will be by poster, which will be facilitated by dedicated sessions each day that do not overlap with other activities. The format introduced in 1995, of oral sessions on selected topics introduced by expert keynote speakers, has been retained for the 15th International Conference. Submissions offered for oral presentation will be subject to peer-review. In addition, there will be a number of workshops on subjects of interest to fish and shellfish pathologists, as well as roundtable discussions on more specific topics. The Conference Centre can accommodate smaller meetings of EU project partners and we encourage members to avail of this facility. However, room hire and associated costs are not covered by the EAFP and must be paid in advance. For details, please contact VenEvent (conference agency) info@venevent.com.
Conference abstract submissions are closed, and registration rates from 1 August now apply. The official language of the conference is English. Final programme is available for download. In addition to the scientific programme the Local Organisers have put together an extensive social programme both for delegates and accompanying persons.
We look forward to meeting you at the conference and we are certain that you will enjoy Split and the surroundings.
Regards,

dr. Ivona Mladineo
Local organiser
