Abstract

      This volume is dedicated to a scientist of great reputation, late Dr. Slobodan Alfirević. On this occasion we are publishing his doctoral thesis which he defended in 1979 and which has not been published earlier due to a variety of reasons.

      We would like to point out that we are printing an unrevised translation of the original text, as written 20 years ago.
