Abstract

The length-weight relationship of 7735 anchovy, Engraulis encrasicolus (L.), specimens during 1987-1991 can be described by the following equations: W = 0.0038 LT 3.1939 for anchovy from the nursery ground (Novigrad Sea), W = 0.0040 LT 3.1195 for anchovy from the coastal waters (Kaštela Bay) and W = 0.0205 LT 2.7078 for anchovy from the offshore waters (Vis and Biševo Islands area) of the eastern Adriatic Sea. The length-weight relationship was calculated by area, sex and gonad maturity stage.
