On the echinoderm fauna of the Geras gulf (Lesvos island, Greece)

Abstract

       Twenty nine species of Echinodermata were identified from benthic samples collected during 1986—1987 in the Geras gulf, 12 of which are new for the area. Of these, Amphiura cherbonnieri and Neocucumis marioni are first records for the eastern Mediterranean while Psammechinus microtuberculatus and Echinocardium flavescens are repor­ted for the second time in greek waters.
