Distribution of phosphorus and organic carbon in surface marine sediments of the near-shore area of Split

Abstract

       New analytical methods for the determination of phos­phorus and organic carbon in sediments are described. It was proved that obtained data could be reproduced so that the methods are recommended as suitable for monitoring phosphorus and organic carbon in sediments.

       Observed parameters were determined in three seasons, and obtained data were compared to the data from other Adriatic and world areas.
