Heat exchange processes between the eastern Mediterranean and the atmosphere

Abstract

       The monthly loss or gain of heat by the Mediterranean Sea due to the solar radiation, the evaporation, the con­ductive heat exchange and the effective radiation was calculated using Timoviv’s equations. The maximum amount of heat loss is due to the evaporation, where its maximum value is observed in October-January and its minimum value is in April-May. The heat gain from the sun exceeds the heat loss through the sea surface from April to Sep­tember.
