Abstract

Hake is one of commercially most important fish species in the Adriatic Sea. However, nevertheless they count among commercially important species, our knowledge on their rates of fishing and natural mortalities of the exploitable stock, and their variation with changes in the intensity of exploitation and natural factors are relatively scare.

Therefore the authors here have tried to present some of the results of studies of biology and population dynamics of the hake, Merluccius merluccius (L.), in the Adriatic.
