Benthic marine flora of Kornati National Park (Kornati Archipelago, Middle Adriatic, Croatia)

Abstract

      A check list of the marine benthic flora of Kornati National Park (Kornati Archipelago, Middle Adriatic) was compiled on the basis of long-term personal collections and sparse bibliographical data. The list includes 352 specific and infraspecific taxa of algae (225 Rhodophyta, 75 Phaeophyta, 52 Chlorophyta) and 3 species of seagrasses, of which 255 are reported from the archipelago for the first time. The R/P ratio of 3 indicates a sub­tropical flora. The flora is analyzed in terms of its phytogeographical components.
