A contribution to the knowledge of bivalve species distribution in the insular zones of the northern and part of the middle Adriatic Sea

Abstract

      During biocoenological investigations, from 1961 to 1980, 117 bivalve species were obtained in insular zones of the northern and the part of the middle Adriatic Sea. Speci­mens were collected by divers, grabs, dredges and bottom trawls. The horizontal and vertical distribution of identi­fied bivalve species is presented in the text and in figures. In the discussion a comparison is made between recent and previous records of some of the bivalve species.
