Investigation on the Adriatic Elasmobranchia liver oils. III Contribution to the knowledge of the oil from the eggs of Acanthias vulgaris

Abstract

      The oil from the eggs compared with the oil from the liver shows essentially different characteristics in its physical and che­mical properties. There exists a big difference in its chemical com­position of the unsap. matter, especially with regard to the con­tent of cholesterol and hydrocarbone. Neither in the oil from the eggs nor in the liver oil has it been possible to prove the pre­sence of squalene.
